Scenery, Flag Ceremony and Our Mayor

Thought I would include a few more pictures from our day on Wednesday in this blog. There were just so many of them. I liked this one - just a lone flower in the middle of the rushing water.

This was the scenic road we were on during part of the Gorge.

Anne snuck into the Flag Ceremony today. We try to keep her out as she is not in uniform, but every once in a while she runs up anyway. She helps - salutes and everything. Once she's up there - there's not a thing I can do about it. The rest of us are all standing at attention. Today, I was actually far away and was able to take the photo. She said tonight, "Mommy, today I did flag." I told her that I knew she did and she said, "I thought you weren't looking." So - she's well aware she's not supposed to do it. The mind of a 3 year old!!! We are dealing with that.......

Sitting on a barrel, waiting to go into supper. Don't have any photos of Jarod today. He has a new friend, Aaron, so we don't see him too much. They were off playing together.

This is our town Mayor. Yes - Butte Creek has a Mayor. His name is J.P. Powell. a.k.a. Sqrat - my fellow Commissioner. We have a super hero also - Cosmic Cowboy and the McNasties. They live over the hill and ride into town on their horses stealing our homestead flags and even the Mayor. He seems to get kidnapped every session! The McNasties have even raided my Snow Cone shop! More exciting times in our little western town.
Not much else going on today. I seem to be dragging a bit. Been really tired. I was able to take a nap when Anne laid down today so that was helpful. Spent the evening paying bills and cleaning our camper. Amazing how cluttered a little space can become. For those of you who know me well - you know I hate clutter - and I was ready to go nuts! But - I think I got it manageable again tonight. At least for a little while. 4 people in a little pop - up is a challenge. Fortunately, we only sleep here. I'm not trying to store food and prepare meals. I am going to get a box together though and ship some un-needed stuff home. It will save on the packing in a few weeks. Can't believe our summer is coming to a close. We fly to Tampa Aug. 11 and will be back in Orange Park Aug. 13 to begin school immediately.
Russ had his Staff Bible Study tonight. It went well, he said. They talked about dealing with difficult situations and had a good discussion. He had about 6 attend. Continue to pray for the staff members who are non-responsive to spiritual things. Russell continues to have several campers and adult leaders ask for Bibles and other materials. Pray this will make a difference in their lives. Many who come to camp are quite impressed with Russell's chapel service stating that they have never experienced one like it before. So it stirs an interest in them. These may be seeds planted that we will never know about until eternity.
Well, Russ is back from the shower and my feet are freezing so it's time for bed. Tonight's low is supposed to be 55. By Tuesday, our high will be 67 - not sure how we will handle the Florida heat once we get home. This has been so nice.
Until tomorrow......
