I can't believe that tomorrow is our last day of camp. We had some excitement today as the goats got loose and wound up at the horse barn. You should have seen all the staff trying to round them up. Some of the wranglers were even trying to rope them. It was quite comical! In the end, there were about 5 staff pulling them by their horns back across the creek with the baby goats following behind.
The kids are getting their last horse rides in before we come home. Anne rode Kid for quite a while today and Jarod had some special privileges with Chism. Instead of the normal trail ride, he got to ride up to dinner with the wranglers. Here they are trotting.
Then, they let him be on Chism in the Street Show we have every session. This is Jarod with most of the wranglers and Scott (on the right) all dressed and ready for Street Show.
Jarod in the Street Show.
While the rest of them were performing in the Street Show, Anne and I were helping Ginger make homemade dough nuts in the kitchen. Yes - I said homemade. I filled these with Raspberry filling and Anne helped put on the powdered sugar! Yum!!!!! The food all summer has been excellent. But - to all my gym friends - I'll be back soon!!!!
Well, I guess I will tell on myself. While at the horse barn today, I thought I would attempt to climb up on the hitching post and sit while waiting for Anne on her horse ride. I slung my leg over and just kept going. Landed flat on my back in the rocks and horse poo. If someone would have been filming - it would have been a great one for America's Funniest Videos, however, I landed mostly on my left hip and elbow and am quite sore tonight. The only thing Russ could say was, "You're not as young as you thought you were, are you?" GRRRRRR! Guess not! I don't think I'll be trying that again!
Well - I'm off to bed for the night. Have to begin packing tomorrow. We'll keep you posted......
